Romanian International Energy Conference (RIEC) 2025 - the dialog underpinning cooperation
The 7th Romanian International Energy Conference (formerly known as the Romanian Internation Gas Conference RIGC), organized by Federația Patronală a Energiei, under the patronage of Ministry of Energy, brought together political leaders, managers of strategic companies and regional experts. The aim of the event is to create space for high-level debate and to shape the energy future of Central and Eastern Europe.
The main coordinates of this edition have been set during the 5 dialogue sessions and were related to trends in the development of the energy sector, new demands of the economy on the energy sector, innovation as a driver of decarbonization and energy production, success stories and local implementation of European policies and, last but not least, energy security and the importance of regional cooperation.

One of the leitmotifs of this edition was the need for closer cooperation between the countries of our region. This emerging regional awareness of the energy sector, as the discussions showed, could prove to be the driving force for consistent development. The experts present showed that physical proximity and economic and social similarities can be the basis for joint action to meet the challenges facing our countries.
Another important element brought up for discussion was the adoption of European legislation: NZIA, ETS 2, Methane Emission Reduction Regulation pose various problems. Therefore participants shared observations and solutions to meet the requirements on time, as well as strategies on how our countries can better defend their interests in Brussels.
The following are some of the views expressed during this edition, as a benchmark for the directions of dialog and the atmosphere of this day, in the order of the event. And, of course, as an argument to build your confidence that energy has a promising and secure future in our region.
