Organizația Patronală PETROGAZ

Organizația Patronală PETROGAZ was established at the level of electricity, heat, oil and gas branch, based on the provisions of the Law on Employers' Associations no. 356/2001 and its own state on 14.01.1992, according to Civil Judgment no.21 pronounced in public session by the Bucharest Sector 1 District Court.

Petrogaz's vision is to become a prestigious employers' organization, internally representative for the energy sector and an active partner, externally, for international organizations.

62/2011, by the freely expressed will of its founding members, Organizația Patronală Gaz is an autonomous, non-political entity.

Established as a legal entity under private law on 9.10.2012 according to Civil Judgment no. 1760, pronounced in the public session of the Sector 1 Bucharest District Court, the employers' organization declares the purpose of concentrating its activities in order to develop and implement the rules on market competition among economic agents in the field of natural gas, energy and oil.

CONPET S.A. is the concessionaire of the SNT (National Oil Transport System), which currently has a length of about 3,800 km and a transport capacity of about 27.5 million tons/year.

In 2023, CONPET finalized the works for the replacement of the connecting wires on the pipelines for the transportation of imported crude oil, Danube sub-crossing and Borcea Arm, with major impact on the environment, safety and national security.

Habau PPS Pipeline Systems is an Austrian company that executes installation and erection works for pipelines for the distribution and transportation of water, petroleum products, compressor stations, design and supervision works. HABAU Romania has subsidiaries in Serbia, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova.

HABAU Romania, together with local partners, has realized the Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnector, an important energy infrastructure project, significant for the security of supply in Europe.

OMV Petrom is the largest integrated energy producer in South East Europe and the company's strategy is to be a leader in South East Europe's energy transition, capitalizing on the opportunities offered by emerging markets while delivering value to all stakeholders.

Contributions to the budget over the period 2005-2023 amounted to around €18bn.

Habau PPS Pipeline Systems is an Austrian company that executes installation and erection works for pipelines for the distribution and transportation of water, petroleum products, compressor stations, design and supervision works. HABAU Romania has subsidiaries in Serbia, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova.

HABAU Romania, together with local partners, has realized the Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnector, an important energy infrastructure project, significant for the security of supply in Europe.

ROMGAZ is the largest producer and main supplier of natural gas in Romania. ROMGAZ carries out geological exploration in order to discover new gas fields, produces methane gas by exploiting the fields in the company's portfolio, stores natural gas underground, carries out interventions, capital repairs and special operations at wells and provides professional technological transportation services.

In 2023, work resumed on the Iernut Thermal Power Plant, with an installed capacity of 430 MW. This is one of the most awaited electricity generation projects in Romania, according to Sebastian Burduja, Minister of Energy. The Iernut Thermoelectric Power Plant is located in Mureș County and has all the necessary facilities for its operation: a natural gas supply station, raw water for the preparation of the working and cooling fluid and the possibility of connection to the National Electricity System for the discharge of the electricity produced.

TRANSGAZ is the technical operator of the National Transmission System (NTS) for natural gas and ensures the fulfillment in conditions of efficiency, transparency, safety, non-discriminatory access and competitiveness of the national strategy on domestic and international natural gas transportation, natural gas dispatching, as well as research and design in the specific field of its activity, in compliance with the requirements of European and national legislation, quality, performance, environmental and sustainable development standards.

In January 2023, Sebastian Burduja, the Minister of Energy, and Ion Sterian, the General Director of SNTGN Transgaz SA, signed the financing contracts for two investment projects: the Black Sea - Podișor natural gas transmission pipeline and the Ghercești-Jitaru natural gas transmission pipeline (including power supply, cathodic protection and fiber optics). The funding amounts to €93 million.

DEPOGAZ is the main storage operator in Romania, with a share of about 90,54% of Romania's total active storage capacity. The DEPOGAZ storage facilities are used to cover consumption peaks and fluctuating demand regimes, operational recovery of the transmission system's functional parameters (pressures, flows) and control deliveries in extreme situations (source outages, accidents, etc.).

 In 2023, DEPOGAZ obtained a 38 million euro European grant for the investment project in Bilciurești. The project "Increasing the daily extraction capacity at the Bilciurești Deposit - Modernization of the natural gas storage system infrastructure" aims to increase the daily gas delivery capacity from the Bilciurești deposit from 14 million Sm3/day to 20 million Sm3/day, correlated with an increase in storage capacity of 108 million Sm3/cycle.

XP (formerly Expert Petroleum) is an oil and gas field operator with a strong track record in improving production and decarbonizing operations. The company has been present in Romania since 2005.

XP has achieved the Gold Standard Pathway from the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP) 2.0, the leading initiative of the United Nations Environment Program, the Environmental Defense Fund and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition dedicated to improving methane emissions reporting within the oil and gas sector. This recognition reflects XP's commitment to develop a credible and robust implementation trajectory to achieve the highest level in methane emissions monitoring over the next 3 years.

Amromco Energy is the third largest producer of natural gas in Romania and the largest independent producer of oil and natural gas in the country. Established in 2002, the company operates in around 22 concession fields.

Black Sea Oil & Gas SA (BSOG) is an independent energy company based in Romania with operations in the development of natural gas resources. Currently, the company's portfolio consists of the MGD Project and two natural gas production licenses, the Ana and Doina fields in the XV Midia - Shallow Water Area perimeter in which BSOG holds a 70% interest.  

Black Sea Oil & Gas SA (BSOG) together with Petro Ventures Resources and Gas Plus Dacia have successfully completed the first planned turnaround of the MGD Project's industrial facilities. This turnaround was achieved after 16 months of exceptional production during which 100% of the gas delivery commitment was met, with associated very low CO₂ emissions of 0.8 kg/boe.

Stratum Energy is a US-based exploration and production company founded in 2005. The company started the production of natural gas, condensate and crude oil by exploiting the oil fields in the Poduri area, Moinești block, supporting the development potential of the area.

DACIAN PETROLEUM is a brownfields recycling company, with effects including reduction of environmental impact. DACIAN PETROLEUM prioritizes the repair and refurbishment of existing facilities over new energy-intensive development works. Activities include the optimization and repair of active wells and the reactivation of inactive wells.

Typical operations involve chemical treatment to remove perforation blockage, formation plugging and wellbore cleaning to remove any obstructions affecting fluid inflow, mainly sand and debris.

Production from active wells can be further enhanced by conventional or heavy workover operations.

Reactivating inactive boreholes

Once the condition and accessibility of the well is verified, a workover program is developed. All work is prioritized in the work portfolio based on a three-dimensional assessment consisting of cost/benefit analysis, geological risk and operational complexity.

VULCAN offers decarbonization solutions for transport and industry, using LNG (liquefied natural gas) and more. The company is involved in import, storage and distribution operations to industrial and residential customers.

In less than 10 years, VULCAN has become one of Europe's leading LNG and BIOLNG operators.
