The oil and gas industry recognizes shared responsibility in managing the health crisis and is ready to contribute in a constructive manner. In this regard, the Federation of Oil and Gas Employers (FPPG) draws public attention to the economic recovery measures submitted to the central authorities.
Immediate and short-term measures include:
- Urgent amendment of the Labor Code (including Kurzarbeit)
- Liberalize the gas market and eliminate additional taxation
- Digitizing the oil and gas industry
- Amendment of the Energy Law (123/2012)
- Attractive regulatory framework for CNG and LNG
- Infrastructure development - creation of a central storage entity for petroleum products in order to secure and comply with the EU obligation
Medium and long-term actions focus mostly on economic recovery through large-scale projects - Black Sea
Competitive fiscal terms and optimal market conditions, schemes to reduce royalties and specific taxes, access to EU funds as well as access to more favorable loans are necessary for oil and gas producers to be able to at least maintain current production levels, to continue operations on all currently exploited areas and mature fields and to maintain current employment levels.
