Romania must decide whether to declare a crisis on the fuel market. President Nicușor Dan and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan are in talks with OMV Petrom representatives on Monday, while the government is considering price caps, subsidies for the economy and restarting the Petrotel Ploiești refinery to avoid a possible fuel shortage.
From the top of OMV, the warnings were stark. OMV CEO Alfred Stern warned that Europe could be hit by a serious fuel shortage.
