An alternative is biomethane and liquefied biomethane (bio LNG), which are produced from agricultural waste or agricultural residues, resulting in a low or zero carbon footprint.<\/p>\n<p>To operate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gie.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/filr\/7069\/BioLNG%20report_2022_compressed.pdf\">a 40-ton truck for 1000 km<\/a>An electric truck would require a 6.4-tonne battery (estimated with 2022 technology), while the same distance can be covered with about 280 kg (620 liters) of (bio)LNG.<\/p>\n<p>Transport using a mix of LNG and bio LNG produces half of the diesel emissions, i.e. trucks with grey hydrogen (made from methane).<\/p>\n<p>That's why European countries are looking to encourage each other, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fpe.ro\/cum-sustin-statele-europene-dezvoltarea-biometanului\/\">through appropriate policies<\/a>, production of biomethane and bio-natural gas, creating a cleaner environment through reduced emissions of carbon dioxide and other pollutants, as well as responsible and economically beneficial use of municipal and agricultural waste.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>We are pleased to share with you that Vulcangas Romania, one of the newest <\/em><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lngcorridor.com\/en\/news\/vulcan-and-fppg-member-in-romania\/\"><strong><em>members of the Energy Employers' Federation<\/em><\/strong><\/a><strong><em>, from 2024, offers solutions to decarbonize heavy transport in our country. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>LPG - ITALIAN EXPERIENCE FOR LOW-CARBON LOCAL TRANSPORTATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First of all, it is important to mention that Italy is one of the most developed EU countries in terms of production and use of bioNG LNG, therefore the import of experience is welcome.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2024, Vulcangas announced the inauguration in Pecica (Arad County) of the first LNG and bio-LNG (including compressed natural gas CNG and compressed natural gas bio-CNG) refueling station in Romania.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><!-- \/wp:post-content --><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- \/wp:quote --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7892 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fpe.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Verde-la-decarbonizarea-transportului-greu-fpe-01.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1020\" height=\"574\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fpe.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Verde-la-decarbonizarea-transportului-greu-fpe-01.webp 1020w, https:\/\/www.fpe.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Verde-la-decarbonizarea-transportului-greu-fpe-01-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.fpe.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Verde-la-decarbonizarea-transportului-greu-fpe-01-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.fpe.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Verde-la-decarbonizarea-transportului-greu-fpe-01-18x10.webp 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1020px) 100vw, 1020px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\"With this investment, the Vulcan Group firmly believes in Romania's potential. The country is an important logistic hub at European level and therefore a network of LNG and bio-NLNG stations on its territory could not be missing. Romania will also be a reference point for the production of liquid and gaseous biomethane for South East Europe, due to the large amount of agricultural raw material that allows the production of gaseous and liquid biomethane\", <a href=\"https:\/\/www.economica.net\/s-a-deschis-prima-statie-lng-si-biolng-din-romania-in-judetul-arad_787604.html\">said Costantino Amadei<\/a>, General Director of Vulcangas Romania.<\/p>\n<p>The opening of these stations comes in the run-up to the ETS2 regulation, set for 2025, with emission monitoring and reporting activities. This regulation introduces an emissions trading scheme for road transport and other sectors to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
