Wishing to establish best practices and contribute to the training of future employees in the energy sector, FPPG initiated a partnership with the Petrol-Gas University of Ploie\u0219ti. The institutional collaboration started on March 15, 2018 by organizing a workshop entitled \u201dMatching the skills acquired by U.P.G. graduates with the needs and requirements of employers<\/strong>\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The economic performance of a state is supported by the energy industry, and the development of the business environment is essentially necessary. In shaping the state's economic profile, we take into account the innovative capacity of companies, the competitive environment, the ethical behavior of economic agents, and the ability to assimilate new technologies. Of course, real importance is also attached to the level of training of employees, together with the ability to attract and retain them in the workforce. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting took place at the University, where representatives of academia and companies operating in the oil and gas industry presented the main challenges that the graduates of the faculties of the oil and gas industry face during and especially after the completion of their study programs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The moderator of the discussions was the pro-rector of U.P.G. dr. eng. Mihail Minescu, who pointed out the conclusions that reveal the need to increase digital skills among students, as well as the introduction of new high-performance simulators for a greater applicability of the theoretical aspects taught in the courses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop was attended by more than 20 companies which, through their representatives, openly showed their interest and willingness to contribute to the main goal of the project - the adaptation of the curriculum for engineering specializations within U.P.G. with the current market requirements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together we are witnessing the Fourth Industrial Revolution where digital skills need to be increasingly advanced, where the training of an engineer today is more difficult than in previous stages. We propose to stay in touch and to focus on areas of competence, on the part of commercial companies that have, for example, electronic processing or automation, on the part of chemical and petrochemical processes, and to go deeper into the subject so that we can find ways to improve the curriculum and improve the quality of our graduates.  <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University of Oil and Gas has partnered with the Oil and Gas Employers' Federation, which is affiliated to many companies working in the oil and gas sector, and together we have set out to do several things. This is not the only action that we are doing together, there will be others that will follow from the ideas that we and you have. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

It is not enough for a student to only know the refining technologies part, because refining means refining technologies, energy parts, automation and control, logistic storage part, so somehow they need to have the integrated picture of these basic things. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

I would also like to focus on certain areas that have a shortage, for example measuring systems, measuring fluids in pipelines in transportation - we are understaffed in this area and we don't even know where to get our professionals from. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

We are looking for new collaborations and we want to make investments in different areas, as well as taking on students as trainees <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
