The research was carried out using qualitative methods - focus groups\/interviews - which explore the motivations, values and political dilemmas of Romanians abroad. They were conducted by IRES, in countries with a significant presence of Romanian citizens, and the analysis and presentation of the results belong to the sociologist Barbu Mateescu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study aims to go beyond the conjunctural explanations and interpretations that frequently appear in the public space, especially during electoral periods, and to answer the essential questions: why the diaspora votes the way they do and how they relate to Romania in general. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
